4 months old

Brycen, would you PLEASE.STOP.GROWING already?

While I'm thoroughly enjoying every stage, I'm also saddened that you are growing up so quickly, right before my eyes.  Despite being so independent at times, you love to cuddle and Mommy makes sure to take advantage of it every chance she can!

We had your 4 month well baby visit about a week before your actual 4 month birthday, so we discussed starting cereal and your doctor thought it was a great idea.  I was so excited to start oatmeal during your dinner bottle that day, however you were C.R.A.N.K.Y MISERABLE all evening because of your shots.  Thankfully, Nana was in town, because it was pass the baby in an attempt to calm you down!
We quickly decided that starting cereal wasn't the best idea.

Tuesday morning was a completely different story.
You woke up your normal smiley self and did really well with the oatmeal.
You did so well, we decided to give you oatmeal at dinner too!
I was expecting it to be a messy experience...
but, you did so well and managed to eat way more than I ever thought you would!

Tummy Time fun
Baby Stats

Sleep:
Still sleeping like a champ...
14-16 hours per day with 10-12 of that at night!

Daily Routine:
Your routine hasn't changed one bit.
You are so predictable...
eat, play, sleep, repeat.

Feeding:
For most of the month you ate 7-8 ounces, 4 times per day;
however, since starting cereal in the past week, you dropped a bottle.
Therefore, you are now eating 8 ounces, 3 times a day, PLUS 3 tablespoons of oatmeal twice per day.
You are LOVING the oatmeal!

Cuddling with Nana
Diaper Size:
Diapers have been interesting this month.  We went through a large box of the Kirkland and decided to try size 2 of Pampers Baby Dry... and Up & Up... and both were fails.  They are both OK during the day, however at night you were leaking through, which resulted in extra laundry and numerous sheet changes, so back to the Kirkland's we went.  They are starting to get snug on you, but they are the only diapers that work!

Clothing Size:
We still struggle to find pant outfits that fit you - either they fit in the chest and are too short, or they are GINORMOUS in the chest, but fit you length wise.  You are mostly in 3 month clothing, with a few 3-6 month outfits.  You are in 6 month sleepers.  Most of your 0-3 month clothing has been packed away with the exception of a couple onesies.

Hair Color:
birth - brown and quite a bit more than we were expecting
1 month - brown - you are almost completely bald on top!
2 months - brown and it's finally growing back
3 months - brown with a nice bald spot in the back
4 months - Still brown but lightening a lot - I think it may end up being a dirty blonde.

First Thanksgiving
Eye Color:
birth - dark blue-grey
1 month - starting to lighten but still blue-grey
2 months - dark blue
3 months - Still dark blue-grey
4 months - "sunburst" - you have a brown inner ring (most days) with blue-grey outer ring

Favorite toy/entertainment:
Your nubby ball teether, Leo the Lion, and your lovie!
If you can't grab onto it and put it in your mouth, you aren't overly interested!

Nicknames:
Monkey Doodle, Burrito, Stinky, Piggy

First Halloween
Funniest Moment:
We are laughing every day over something you do!
However, Daddy chose watching you eat cereal as one of your funniest moments.
Daddy said the look on your face every time you take a bite makes him laugh.

Favorite Moment:
Listening to you laugh and giggle.
You are quite ticklish and I love getting you to laugh.
You will laugh for me no problem, but not for daddy - and he tries so hard!

Milestones:
Laughing
Reaching for toys - scooting and rolling if necessary to reach them!

Relaxing with a "broken" daddy
Firsts:
First ear infection
First Halloween
First Thanksgiving
First family photos

One year

One year ago yesterday:
Brian and I were in Vegas getting ready to head home....
BUT, not before we hit up the NY NY Roller coaster.
It was after that ride that I began to suspect I was pregnant.
I didn't say anything to Brian about my suspicions as we had only just begun trying...
but deep down, I just knew!

One year ago today:
I received confirmation that I was indeed pregnant!

One year later:
Our days are spent with this handsome, drooling, boy
(and I wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING in the world!)

Brycen, you have brought more joy to our lives then you will ever know.
I'm truly honored to be your mommy and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us!

He found it!

Brycen found his voice!

He has been babbling and talking for quite some time...
but NOTHING like this!

Since blogger doesn't allow us to add audio clips, I made a little "movie"...

Our days of a quiet household... are over!
(and I'm loving every minute of it!)
